Is it the CAmona? I can't remeber their names. It's all the sultry, moody looking grey faced dudes hanging out in Balmora that you have to kill for whatshisface in Fort Monmoth and to get the murderer of the Hlaalu clan man, Ralen whatshisface (why do they have to make the names so hard to remember?-a simple DAve or Pete be much easier).

Anway, I can't seem to provoke a fight with them. I've tried taunting, and managed to reduce my personality level with them to zero and even resulted in a couple of taunt successes at zero, where one of them says something like, "Yeah, well I might just have to kill you" (something like) but when I break out of dialogue by pressing goodbye, the lame duck just stands and looks at me!

I've been looking round Bamora for an enrage humanoid (or whatever it's called) spell - found the calm humanoid, almost every mage has one, but calming is just what those placid lambs down in the Cavern Club don't need. Excite humanoid just doesn't seem to be available.

DO I have a bug with the taunt? Or am I doing something wrong?

I'm not sure what version I'm playing (1.4, I think) but I've recently installed Tribunal and it's latest patch. Do I need to patch the original Morrowind too????

Cheers,

It's not enough to get the disposition down to zero. The npc have to say something like "OK, that does it" and the only communication option should be "Goodbye".

Besides that, you can just kill them and run like hell to fort Moonmoth. Whatshisface will pay your fine and you're in the clear.

But if you decide to do that, better brace yourself, cause all of em will come at you at the same time.

naaaa .... it's possible to take em on 1 - 1 and 3. Take the guy up top first, the guy in the basement next, then pray!

If you're very low level get a bow and a few hundred arrows.
Jump up on one of the beds in the basement and hug the walls in the corner.
If you're lucky, noone will be able to hit you as they all use melee, and you can just fire away until they're all down.

If you came away with that, you were lucky. I jumped the guy upstairs, and all the others, except for the one downstairs, came storming up to attack me. I was a low level character at that time, and had a hard time making it out of there in one piece.

you can also try sneak and shoot them from far by using a bow. if they don't die outright they'll run around in circles. the good thing about this is that it won't be counted as a crime.

Just keep taunting him. You can continue to taunt successfully (although it takes longer) even when his disposition is zero. When you have finally taunted him enough, the dialogue will close with the words (in red) 'Goodbye'.

NB - Let him get the first blow in! (Sometimes if you hack first, the guards assume that *you* started the fight).

Oh - and one trick to get the taunt to work faster is to bribe the disposition back up to 100 and then taunt. Sound expensive? It isn't - you can retrieve your gold back from the body afterwards! ;)

If you attack them and escape back to the fort, upon completing the quest you get the bounty taken away.
