How do you get character to run my game is slow slow slow mouse jerky dodge nonexistant
settings as low as you can get. Computer is a HP pentium 4 plenty of ram and hd space Video card nvidia tnt2 m64 |
Your system is almost fine. Your vid card is the bottle neck. Lower your game resolution and your view distance. Turn off all graphics effects.
The "run" key is the left CTRL key - press and hold to run. |
actually, the default run key is the LEFT Shift button. the left CTRL button is for sneaking.
|
You can switch your run key to caps lock and you won't have to hold a key down to run.
With that video card this game will run terribly slow. It has a hard time on my gf 3 ti 200. The only thing you can do is turn everything down, and turn off all your background applications. |
Maybe you should buy a new graphics card in any case: such a slow card on a p4 is a shame... it will slow you down a lot on every game, not only morrowind. Buy an ATI radeon 8500 or Geforce4, they come cheap now that new cards are coming out.
To run, use the always run option which should be bound to the caps lock key: hit it and you run continuosly (spelling? bah...), hit it again and you are walking. Personally I always run (good for athletics) and use sneak mode to walk. |
Always readjust controlls to your liking, in any game.
And why "CapsLock"? It makes letters big when you exit the game. Let it be "End". |
emmm..shouldn't the caplocks for always run works on the game only? you mean after the game it still " activated " ?
|
I always bind the always run option to the caps lock key (habit, no real reason), but if it's bound to a function, pressing it in game doesn't affect the outside world... in my system, at least.

Thanks for the posts. I will take the advice and upgrade my video card
