If it's explained within the manual, just give me the page number.
Otherwise, I undestand you need a soulgem, but then ? [ 03-14-2003, 07:48 AM: Message edited by: ecarletti ] |
What you have to do is cast a soultrap spell at the enemy creature whos soul you want. Kill it, when it dies it's soul goes into your smallest soul gem.
To be honest, I think it's only worth catching golden saint souls in Grand Soul gems as with them you can create permanent effect items. |
It is in the manual but I don't know the page number.
Like Desdicado said, cast Soul Trap on the monster. You then have 60 seconds to kill it. Make sure you have the appropriate soul gem in your inventory. High level monsters cannot be trapped in low level gems. But low level monsters can be trapped in high level gems (but what a waste). When you kill the monsters you'll see a message saying you've trapped a soul. Mouse over the soul gem in your inventory and it will tell you what monster is trapped within. If you are low level (like me) start with easy monsters like rats or mudcrabs to get the hang of it .. Helix [ 03-14-2003, 08:33 AM: Message edited by: Helix ] |
Absolutely off topic, but I felt the need to ask... Helix, did you format your topic this way on purpose or did it just come out with short text lines for some unknown reason?
|
It's on pg 39. You will get a msg when you successfully trap the soul. Some souls are stronger than others and need larger soul gems. Likewise don't try to store a rat soul in a grand soul gem - complete waste.
b_part: Helix just typed that way, to find out how people encode their posts, just quote it and read the tags. |
The trapped stole gets conserved into the smallest soulstone it fits into. That is, you just carry a wide array of empty stones, and you'll not waste them.
|
Thanks Night Stalker, I hadn't thought of doing that.
Back to topic, there are rumors in Vvardenfell about a powerful reusable soul gem. Every apprentice enchanter dreams of having it to avoid the waste of precious soulgems, but so far it's only a legend... |
^.. a legend connected to a goddess, no less. ;)
|
Yeah really, legend? Sorry guys i already have it. I guess that kinda ruined the mysteriousness of it all. whoops
