I noticed that when you block an attack, you take zero damage. It's a big advantage imo. Do you use block often?

I'm not sure, but i think my character blocks automatically randomly.

Kakero 02-18-2003 06:19 PM

yeah, my character of 110 in block also blocks automatically randomly.

I don`t use block because I use long swords and hammers, the good ones are two handed. I`ll probably use short swords for my theif though so I`ll get a shield. If you use heavy armor you really don`t need one.

Yep. My characers are almost always mage/thief hybrids who wear light armor and use 1-handed swords. It's completely cool, especially in lower levels where you don't have the best armor. And it kicks in almost right away. A few $$ training in block, and what a difference! Your low level character will shove that shield out there and block an attack you didn't even see coming.

Hmm.. I just found Sundar which is one handed, and it is way better than Chysamere bonus wise! Maybe I`ll work up my agility and find the shield master trainer.

if you want a good long sword try Goldbrand. after that you may change it into Eltonbrand.

If you have tribunal installed do the tribunal main quest. the rewards are two best single handed long word in the game. Hopefire and Trueflame

You get block skill for major or minor? even in misc it raises fast?

Kakero 02-19-2003 08:21 AM

yes, if you put it in misc skill it will still raise as fast as you put it in major or minor skill.

My char has block as misc skill, but although I usually equip a shield, the skill doesn't really go up that fast... if you really want it, put it as minor
