I know I've played with tons of mod out there but I didn't know I need to clean it first before installing it. any ideas?
|
What? I`ve never cleaned any mods or anything like that..???
|
How does one clean a mod ? Same way as a pair of jeans ? :D
|
if it was that easy, I wouldn't be asking would I ? :D
emm..when I'm downloading mods there are printed warnings like if one have too many mods installed he should clean up the mods first before playing the game. but none of the warnings included how to clean a mod! grrrrr..... |
The word TESAME comes to my mind - that is The Elder Scrolls Advanced Mod Editor.
It's a tool everybody claims to have thoroughly used to clean their mods. I wonder how, really, but perhaps you could search around the net... |

Most times the only problem with the mods is that they were written pre-patch. There's an easy fix for that: 1. Open TES 2. Under Data Files, double click on Morrowind.esp AND the name of the mod you need to update. While you have the mod highlighted, select Set as Active File. 3. Save. Voila! Your mod is updated to integrate with the patch. I'm running about 20 plugins and have never had to do anything else. Occasionally a mod will be incompatible with another, but they will usually say so and tell you in the readme file what to do. Common sense helps, too. For instance, if you use a plugin to regenerate magicka and you want to download another one that offers the same feature, you need to choose which one to use. There are a few mods that add features to the strongholds - and generally you can't start using those mods until AFTER you've reached stage 3 of your stronghold (mainly because the changes would be overwritten by the game when it goes from one stronghold stage to another). But again, the readme file tells you what to do. I haven't needed to use TESAME, but here's the link for it: http://www.moddaz.com/english/link.php?file=13 [ 01-30-2003, 12:01 PM: Message edited by: Rhea ] |
thanks Rhea, at least now I know what to do.

well you download it onto a disk then put the disk in some dishwashing fluid. soak for 45 minutes than use a hair dryer to dry off. It's not htat hard!
|
you always do that? cool!
|
yeah i know, but then the game starts fizzing and then lights on fire, so always have a fire extinguisher ready!
