I just have a few questions about Morrowind that I am hoping I can get some answers to.

X Box Version

1. Will there be a large battle at all, ala Helm's Deep from The Two Towers.

2. What can Azura's Star Do.

3. There is a murder in Balmora, I read in a strategy guide that you have to join House Hiaalu to solve it. I have found eye witness accounts from people all around Balmora, is there a way to solve it without the house memebership.

4. I have talked to the gentleman at Fort Moonmoth, (His name escapes me) but he wants me to kill some bad people in Balmora. I know they are the four Tong members at the Council Club. But what do I need to say to confront them and kill them.

I thank you all in advance for any help you provide.

1) Not from what I remember. The biggest battle you will see if when you try to run from cliff racers and they catch up to you. 6 cliff racers vs you can be deadly if you are a low level character.

2) It's related to a quest you will have to do later for Azura.

3) Nope. Join the house ;)

4) Well, if you have a writ for them just kill them. If not taunt them until they attack you. That always works.

Welcome to the IW ;)

Answer to #1:

There is one battle that I`m aware of in the main quest. It has to do with clearing a shrine for an ashlander group. At the shrine it was a three way free for all with me vs. battlemage ordinators vs. daedra cultists. That was pretty fun.

#2:

It has something to do with soul gems. Haven`t done that one myself.

#4:

If your personality & speechcraft are high enough taunt them into fighting you one at a time. Otherwise wait until you`re a high level and take them all on at once. I don`t know any other way to do that one.

If you decide to take them all on at once instead of taunting you`ll probably be charged with murder and it might be hard to get back to Ft. Moonmoth without being arrested. If you`re thieves guild you could get the charges taken care of though.. up to you to decide how to handle it.

Also know there are no 'writs' for this job. That is only through Morag Tong jobs.

But 'writs' are not specified for the hit they are for. You can use a writ for any assult/murder. There are a number of writ quests that can be completed without useing the writ that goes along withit.

#3. I have learned that if you praise first, then start your taunting it seems to work better. However, all 3 in the bottom will attack you once you have taunetd one, and the fight ensues. I will offer to a ubber that the very bottom rooms can be pretty useful.

#4. Remember, when he gave you the mission, he mentioned something about returning to him. You must be very evasive of ALL GUARDS, and use, lets say, not the front door to get back into the fort. He will take care of you, Lauris Varis (sumpin)

Good luck, and welcome

#1 Actually you can find a great battle in one of the official plugins from bethesda, the firemoth fort - armies of skeletons charge towards you. The battle in Ald Daedroth (?) mentioned by Rolandthemad is fun as well - but collecting all the loot afterwards is reaaaally tiring.

#2
It's a reausable soul gem. You trap a soul with it, enchant whatever you want, then reuse the star.

#3
Actually you needn't join the house to solve the quest. But my humble advice is, throw away those walkthrough, they spoil the fun and prevent you from using your brains.

#4
Method one: don't say anything, just slaughter them - any price on your head will be removed by Varo (?) the guard captain.*
Method two: taunt and kill them one by one.
*method one can have adverse effect on the health of low level characters.

That one had me laid out. I lost all but one of my NPCs, picked up another before the big showdown, and left with just those two. Whew! Grurn's a toughie. I had to go away, make an enchanted item and return to try again.

And the rats in the dungeon! Aieeeeee! Have I mentioned how I hate rats?

I want to thank you all for the information. For the record for though I dont usually use guides and I love being able to choose what you can do. I only use it in extreme problems. A couple of more things. Again all this is for the X Box version.

1. What is up with the X Box error that it says it is scratched when I know it isnt.

2. Does anyone else have a prob with it lagging some as you get more on your map.

Thanks again for all the help and the friendly welcome.

You were lucky... I had to go away, make 20 levels more and then come back... )
