Would it be possible to make a item have a constant effect mod of fortify say strength. If it is possible what would I need to make this mod. If this can't be done where could I find a big supply of fortify strength, intelligence, and agility items.

You only need to buy one Fortify (Stat) spell. If you make an item to modify a stat, the creation process will ask you what stat you want to modify. I think that the Temples and the Imperial Cult chapters are the best place for these types of spells. You can modify the spell at the Mage's Guild, but for the most part, making a magic item will ask you to define the parameters you want that item to have. So the conditions on the spell shouldn't be a problem i.e. the strength, duration etc.
As for CE items, it's best to pay an NPC enchanter to do it for you, as you'll rarely ever manage it yourself. (CE items cost a fortune.) BTW this is normal magical item creation. A mod is something else altogether. |
the fortify spell is already on your editor. just create an item and drag your wanted fortify spell into that item. becareful though as you might create an uber item.

So, really I could just purchase a fortify spell and learn it and have a better chance of casting that for my uses than making a CE item. Or am I taking this all the wrong way?
|
well here's a thought.
if you buy a fortify spell. you will need the nescessary mana to be able to cast it. and there's not that many mana potion out there. sleeping to regain mana is a waste of time. if you create CE item. that item will give a constant effect and it will save you on those mana since you don't have to cast it. |
1) Use soul trap on a Golden Saint (or Winged Twilight? Sorry, brain drain) with a grand soul gem in your inventory.
2) Make sure you've learned or bought the spell somewhere. 2) Drag and drop the soul gem on yourself in inventory, and you will bring up a menu that will let you choose the soul gem and the item to enchant. 3) Select "constant effect" using the bottom left button on that screen. 4) Select the spell and follow the directions and voila! a constant effect enchantment. Spells that absorb or enhance attributes are totally cool. Try making a constant effect enchantment on a sword for Absorb Health and I guarantee even the nastiest baddies will kneel (0r keel over) before you! :D |
hmm, ok, that's what I thought I would do. Thanks for the help everyone

Here are some thoughts;
1) INT at 100 you can sometimes enchant for 30 points. That is the number in the upper right, / with the total that the item can handle. 2) All those small soul gems and pieces of armor that you can't figure out what to do with? Enchant with fortify INT. Keep in mind you need to have at least 5 seconds on duration, and be quick with your mouse. Once you have right clicked back into stats screen, time is paused. A decent piece of armor can handle fortify INT 100 for 5 secs easy. 3) At INT 1000 you can sometimes enchant for 50 points. Big CE items use way much enchant points! 4) The only CE gem I have found to be successful is the Grand, with a golden saint, 80000. I cannot get a 60000 winged twilight to do CE. 5) Grand soul gems seem to be very random, and golden saints are very rare. But, I did "acquire" "cough, borrow" some conjure golden saint scrolls. And altough you do not get any armor or weapons, you get what you need, the soul! I have created two CE items, and this is the formula I used. Borrowed from another site. fortify INT to 700-1000, grand SG,w/GS. Fortify 0-?? whatever you can muster, usually 30-50. Why min at 0? Because you can effectively cut the cost by a 1/3 this way. Just keep equiping the item until you are happy with the result. This item is a CE, so should be equipped at all times afterwards right? My Glass Tower Shield is CE Chameloen 0-16, currently at 15%. My Glass helm of NVG is Night Vision 0-30, currently at 27%. I have yet to create a CE with an attribute, they are just way to much enchant points to get anything decent. Sure, we could do a CE fortify STR 2, what a waste. I have found shield and reflect to be untoucable. Hope this helps. Felix |
I tired basically what you did Felix and I ran into the same cost problems. I finally had something laying around in my strongholds with the mods I needed. Thanks for the help

You don't have to worry about whether Golden Saints are thick on the ground, though, once you buy the "Summon Golden Saint" spell and are high enough in level to cast it. Then you can beg, borrow and steal the Grand Soul Gems and summon them, soul trap and kill as many as you need. Coolness.! And they are around a lot - you can start off stealing them at the Mages' Guild in Balmora and there are some laying around in virtually every town. The CE items I can't live without are clothing with: Chameleon, Levitate and Night-Eye - and a sword with absorb health. I've found that the absorb health enchantment helped me defeat the baddie at Firemoth in 4 strokes - and it wasn't even that great an enchantment, being one of my first picks.
