no matter how much you screw up in the begining of making your char... once you get to lvl 30ish it all seems to balance out basically

Not exactly sure what you mean Ranger? I take it you mean with skill utilisation.

Mages seem to be a pain in the beginning, as their magic is pretty poor (or hopeless). Guess that's why classes have some h-t-h and armour skills. Until you're up a few levels, I find you rely upon them more than anything else. 'Cept running away of course! :D

The best tip I can give: Don't die.

If you mean 'good' as opposed to 'evil', don`t join the Telvanni. Mage Guild people are nice. Sometimes they`ll order you to knock off some people but they are usually necromancers or you can find another solution.

Get blunt weapon as proficiency, you can find good hammers around. Also this skill is favored by most temples - that is if you want to throw in a bit of clerical abilities.
Don't forget mysticism, it's the fastest way of going around and will help you also in ranking in temples and such.
Last, unarmored skill is very useful: as a wizard your strength will be low - and even light armor can get heavy.

Then get all the possible spell schools, favoring destruction as major skill

actually my high elf character likes magic and can kill in one spell. I created it myself!

simple, get enough money, buy new spells and then create your own kick butt spell.

Thank you, but which is the more useful protection spell?
