<font color = aqua>I've just been given a quest to escort Sondale of Shimmerene through Telasero. When I got to Telasero there was a note pinned to the door saying that she thought it was safe and was going down to check it out (what a plonker). Anyway I met a few ash people who were easy enough to dispose of and found Sondale and started to escort her out of the place but there's this giant size walrus looking mage called Dagoth or something like that with some pretty powerful magic blocking the entrance. My question first of all is, ....is this the final beast I'm supposed to defeat? Because I don't want to finish the last part of the game until I've done almost all the quests, and if not, what are some best practices for taking him out. Thanks in advance for your help. </font>

No, i don't think that's Dagoth Uhr, he waits for you at Red Mountain, it could be one of the vampires. Can't you levitate and shoot some fireballs on him ? Or arrows, if you have a bow ?

If you have a few restore magic potions, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

You'll run into 'Dagoth <blank>' worshippers throughout many parts of the game. They're just worshippers, waste them with extreme prejudice.

when i got the wizards staff i simply went and bought it instead of going off to find it (i wanted to advance quickly and not walk around alot [img]tongue.gif[/img] )

Anyhow, the creature you describe is what is called a "sleeper." They do have quite a bit of magic to throw at you, but don't really pack a punch fist-wise. If you are of lower level then use protection from fire, shock, and poison, as these are the three spells they love to use. With a decent weapon and good strength you can dispose of them quickly in a one on one fight. However, if you are of lower level then buying spells of skeleton minion summoning would come in handy. Let the summoned monster take the brunt of the fight, then when your summoned friend is killed or disappears then go in for the kill. Zis iz not a prublem faer me, ahz ah am a leval 73 adventuraer, and when ah it ah munstaer...they disappaer.

But as I said before it all depends on your level. If at 35, go in for the kill. If 25, better have some potions and magic. If 15...run. If level 5.....unless you're coked up on moon sugar I don't know what you would be doing there.

Dagoth Ur, as said before is in Red Mountain, so this is just an ancient sleeper. Put him to sleep...
