im level 51 and i been using a wild sparksword (very crappy) since about level 2 occasionally switching to a more powerful glass poisonlongsword which i dont have as much skill in, but even then neither of them seem that good, i want weapons to match my stats, i can stand around and take hits from anyone for a fair while without a problem, i just seem to hit like a little girl

i got loads of daedric weapons lying about, but i havent yet gone in for the whole enchanting thing, spose i should, there any weapons i can pick up quickly from anywhere thats better than what i got, preferably shortsword or longsword, but i do have blunt weapons and axe up high though i never use em.

otherwise its working out the whole enchanting thing (if i give to an enchanter a grand soul gem with something in it can he make an enchanted item as well as something i could make myself or not?

I suggest using dadric weapons, they are the best (among them axe, longsword and katana are the best, or if you prefer doublehanded, battleaxe and daikatana).
Just one problem, they are a burden to carry around (unless you are strong).
And also they have limited enchanting capacity (e.g. axe: 15). I haven't yet tried to enchant other weapons, so I don't know if this is true in general or is a characteristic trait of Daedric weapons.

Solution: enchant something (e.g shirt - pants - robe) with the Bound longsword or bound axe spell (constant effect). This way you have a dadric weapon which weighs exactly nothing.
Problems: you can't enchant a bound weapon and also if you remove the enchanted objects the weapon goes as well.

Solution 2: You can use Keening (shortsword), Sunder (Hammer), Bonebiter (bow)
These are mithical objects which you can find in your quest, and they are really powerful.

Solution 3: There are many other great weapons lying around as a reward for some quests. find them... ) [e.g. Umbra sword (doublehanded)]

As for the enchanting, if you go to an enchanter, you need only a soul gem, an object, a spell (you must know the spell with which you want to imbue the object) and a lot of money (even 120k - 150k sometimes)
Tip: only the souls of Golden Saint and Ascended Sleeper can be used to create a constant effect item.

i use bonebiter and its a bit crappy just like a longbow with an effect and not that powerful, i normally use it to annoy enemies into coming and attacking me.

my strength is 100 and i can carry 500 worth of stuff the weight isnt a problem, i have daedric katana, daikatana, wakizashi and axe all in storage, but if they cant be enchanted well what weapons can?

ascended sleepers are the big ugly ones who look like the terribly animated tree things out of the original "beastmaster" film arent they?

but i find them and golden saints easy, arent there harder beasties around? thats the problem with morrowind its not challenging enough, something like everquest is tank hard even to get above lvl 18 when playing without a group, but morrowind levelling is very easy indeed, wish they could cut a balance in between.

I found that later in the game many of the higher level Daedra have reflect so I just used either a Daedric Wakizashi or a Daedric Daikatana. I also particularly like Sunder. Since my sneak was 100 I loved doing backstabs with the Daikatana or Sunder. Even Golden Saints and named Dagoths went down with one blow.

If I play again I plan on making a Hand weapon enchanted with Soul Trap cast on Strike. Now you can backstab and trap souls all at the same time. I did test out the theory and you do trap souls if you kill them with one strike.

i found a weapon for that on a quest or a random tomb raid, cant remember which, its costs over 100,000 and is quite a powerful shortsword with soultrap on it cast when strikes, if i find the crate i stuck it in ill be able to tell you i think its one you can find at any level without needing to fight anything

If you want to find a good match, try out the old Telvanni wizard, the master of Tel Fyr (the one who cures you of Corprus).
He is tough, and his armor is Daedric, very useful. Of course you may find Daedric armor piece by piece around Morrowind, but if you kill him, you get a complete suit in one strike.
The game will tell you that you have altered the course of the profecy, but if you kill him after you have killed Dagoth Ur, there is no profecy to worry about anymore.

Another good match is Umbra, an old warrior with a story to tell and a desire for fighting... His sword (Doublehanded) is very good (although not as good as a Daedric Daikatana, but that's difficult), and, guess what, it casts Soul Trap...

I did both about level 20, with a good equipment... They take quite a punch to go down and are by far the toughest enemies I have met so far... Umbra especially is really strong. You find him (read each word backwards if you accept the spoiling)ni eht ssenredliw htron fo narus, ta eht dne fo a yellav fo hsa

Well before I got sunder, I enchanted a daidric katana with damage health 1-68 and restore fatigue 1-100, all cast when strikes
so with a longblade skill of 100, I can get a max damage of over 100.
But with sunder and with 200 strength and a blunt weapon skill of 100, you shouldn't have any trouble with anyone.
especially since sunder is one handed you can still have a shield, which I enchanted with fortify strength, as most of my clothing as well.

Well I'm only Level 14 yet and I haven't even heard of any of those weapons mentioned above (Except the Draderic short sword with soultrap) I have recently enchanted a Nordic battleaxe however, its a two handed weapon, weighs 30. Its enchanted with shock damage and absorb health. Very good against skeleton champions which were creaming me before while I was looking for BoneBiter, (which I still haven't found yet!!) It is very heavy though, so I can only carry one other weapon (Demonic Katana) which I use on lower level monsters to help with my Longsword skill and Block skill. I would suggest enchaning your favourite weapon with the same, especialy (like me) if you cant take a good beating.

update:

answered my own prayers by picking up a big old hammer type thing with 10-50 damage on it and healing/fatigue restore too, was in some lava pit in the depths of an old temple and it means im taking golden saints in 4 hits now when lucky

anyhows its doing me nicely for the moment even if it is blunt weapon, i went on a training spree so all my skills are at least 50+ even ones i never use, just trying to max everything i possibly can now.
