My Avenger freed the Grove, and at level 14 went to claim the position of Grand Druid. He was quickly successful (this fight allowed him to keep all of his items on for the duration -- the challenge-master hadn't a chance). He earned a Ring of Protection +2 (useful) and a new title (whatever).
Or so he thought. After quite a lot of adventuring, he earns another level -- the magic level 15. Now he knows the true power of being a Grand Druid. In addition to his high-level ability, he can cast a minimum of 6 spells of each level! This means six level 7 spells, too! That's a lot of globes of blades, my friends. Now I wonder if it's merely the fact of leveling up which activates the new spells ... I'll have to try this with a half-elf fighter/druid at some point. -- Nifft |
wow! that's pretty cool. I've never run a druid as there are enough of them in the game, but I'll be sure to give it a try some day.

In the PnP rules of the 2nd Ed. the new 6 spells per level are an effect of leveling up. However, in the PnP game you cannot become level 14 without becoming Grand Druid and thus cannot get higher levels, too. So, to get to level 14, you have first to beat the old Grand Druid before you are allowed to advance further. I don't think, that they implemented this too strictly since Jah can advance beyond level 14 without challenging the old Grand Druid. And I cannot remember at the moment, if Jah also gets the 6 spells per level or not.

Jaheira does get all the spells, but it's usually near the end of ToB as she needs to get to 6,000,000 XP.

Cool, I'm so making a Druid for the Darkest Day ultimate wipeout party.
