If any of you have been to the Sewers under the Temple District (which i imagin most of you have) you will probably have come across a guy called Roger the Fence, I dont know if this has been said before or if it is just my game (BG2 SoA + New patch), but when dealing with the guy i decided that buying from him just wasnt an option, so i did what all good thieves do - steal from him! After taking a few items, and some that i didnt want either I accidentily tried to sell some of the items i had just stolen off him back - and it worked! So you can sell your items to him, and so long as you have a pretty high Pick Pocket value (I had about 200 at the time that was with a potion of master thievery too though, but he never noticed a thing even after stealing just about his whole stock and flogging it back to him) you can just steal your stuff back and sell it to him again...and again...etc.

After trying this on ceveral occasions (just a minute ago being one of them) and it still seems to work, have a go with it if you want and see if it will work for you too.

actually, this works with the black market thief in the shadow thieves guildhall. i do this every time i play a rogue, and get about 1000000 gold before i actually start out. its just great.

Ahh right, I just didnt think that the people from Black Isle would deliberatly allow you to make almost unlimited cash, but it seems they have! (I dont have a clue why they would do that though?!)

Good post question and tips. I had been wondering if that was possible to pickpocket from a merchant and then selling it back to them. When I was on Brynnlaw Island, I stole the weapons from the merchant there and then sold it back to him. That was funny and had me wondering about pickpocketing merchants.It's great to be a thief, at least an FMT.
