Sheepish Grin~~I stole the Book, "Chimarvamidium" from the Vivic
mage guild.And only God knows where I sold it or to whom I sold it

Need assist in CHEATING and getting this QUEST book back in my inventory of where it belongs.

I do know about the Tilde ~ to get the console up as I have had to use the TCL and RA cheats. But no others.

Please get the 'Old Bones' up and running again

You may want to go over to the official forums and do a search for the console commands.

I have seen the commands for items and spells, but not for books yet...

But the official boards have a few good threads on the subject...

Or you could just wander from town to town checking the bookstores for it. There is usually more than one of a book. For instance, there is a thief quest requiring the book "Witherskins" which says it can be found from some guy in some town way off somewhere, but if your smart you will just steal the copy from the Mages Guild right across the street.

gee, barron, i'm so sorry, hon.

dang. a book, huh? now i'm paranoid about EVERYTHING.

i know the basic item command, the only problem is that most quest items are, well, special.

they require going into the Editor
opening the morrowind.esm file (which can take a loooong time)
then scrolling thru the item lists, specifically for Books
inside books finding the one you need
there will be a description of it, write it down

then open the console and enter

player->AddItem "XXX"

(where XXX is the game id you found for the book)

sorry, hon. :(

err..actually it should be:

player->AddItem "XXX" 1

You could try the above with the XXX being bk_name of book
(insert proper spelling here)
Me, I'm trying to cheat to get the designer shoes into my inventory, but I can't find the name...
I keep wondering why, it's not that big of a quest I messed up, but it bugs me seeing that witch of a storekeeper wearing MY SHOES.....
my stash in the MAge guild is getting big form all the items I'm afraid to sell now

Many Thanks to all who replied.

Player->additem "chimarvamidium" 1 :(
Player->additem "book Chimarvamidium" 1 :(
Player->additem "bk chamarvamidium" 1 :(
Player->addquestitem "XXXX" 1 :(

'Old Bones"

WHen I added a quest book in, I used the additem "bk_name of book"1
command and it poped in nicely, I didn't even keep it, I jsut wanted to read the story and then I restarted the game..heheheh...without going through the editor to find the exact name, it's only a guess that you woudl ahve the same luck..remember the _ between bk and the name of the book...

Okay~~~~ Learned a new trick Well sort of :(
A reply to my mellow 'scream' for help in the Morrowind Forums (cheats) and this problem was answered. Will insert the answer verbatim.

In the case of Chimarvamidium (A.K.A., "BookSkill_Heavy Armor3" for those of you desperate enough to cheat;)) the Construction Set says there are 3 (three!) instances of it in the game. Probably not counting levelled items. etc. etc..

So the Books are listed by thier proper names. Ie: "Bookskill_Heavy Armor3" not Chimarvamidium .

Tried Player->additem "BookSkill_Heavy Armor3" 1 and got the book

But still am lost with the Construction set :(

The 'Old Bones' are rattling once again.

Thanks all for your assist.
