i want to play an assassin : should i choose khajiit or wood elf ?

Doesn't really matter, though "beast races," like Khajit can't wear footgear or full-face helms.

JMHO:
If it were me, I'd play as Argonian. That extra 10 points going into Personality(Ay, who needs a poysonality if you's whackin em from da backside...?) for Wood Elf and Khajiit goes into Speed for the Argonian. Plus, you get bonuses in Alchemy(poisons); Illusion(Night-eye, Payalyze,Blind,Demoralize Humanoid[when you're out-gunned]);Mysticism(Telekinesis, Dispel plus Mark, Recall, and Intervention spells for when you need to get away in a hurry):medium aromr AND unarmored, spear(keeps the enemy at a distance(I'm not realy fond of the marksman weapons in this game), and 15% to athletics(too bad it's not acrobatics, but I've had more trouble raising my own athletics and none raising Acrobatics...). Also, the water breathing should be really cool. I think my sign will be either the Shadow, The Lover, or The Tower...That's my next character anyway, so I HOPE it's a good choice. Just laying out another option for you.
