Hi. I can't find the stupid thief ring in the starter dungeon. This is becoming an obsession for me. I'm not even a thief. Please tell me where it is.
P.S. I'm sooo glad Ironworks has a Morrowind forums. I think I'm going to stay here. |
its extremely hard to find.. you have to get a LOT of torches or lamps and keep them going all the time.
did you find the first area with boxes and torches in it? if you walk off that... the path winds around and you comr to a plant of some sort that has some bones. and peices of equiment. thats where it is, but its teeny tiny and you have to run your cursor over every pizel in the area. which is not fun, but its the only way to do it. Thanks. I'll try one more time. If I don't find it, I'm calling it quits. I don't think MW is the type of game that you can easily do everything. There's just so many things to do in this game. Thanks again.

Look for some bones near the water. There are two sets of bones. Both have Netch leather pauldrons. One set is by a bunch of mushrooms and has GOLD pieces on the floor. It's a tiny little bugger and it helps if you look in that narrow area from at least TWO angles as it can get obscured by a mushroom.
The ring isn't really all that great or worth that much. |
true, hon! but for a starting thiefsie type its great!
i used it regularly for my first 5 levels until my own particular skills were on their way and didn't need the small boost anymore. and i really felt totally cool for having found that little thing on my own in that silly cavern. but darnitall, i despise "pixel hunting". ::grumbles under her breath:: good luck, luv! Found it...amazing. My game was saved at a mushroom patch and when I loaded it my cursor was right on it. I got so excited that I moved it and had to find it again. This took awhile, but I got it. Thanks. Two more questions. I did the mage guild quest in Balmora and swapped soul gems. I now have a nice gem valued at about 2000 drakes but no shopkeeper has that much money. Where can I sell it? And where's is a good place to store junk without it dissappearing? Thanks.

I put all my stuff on the bench in Casius's house.

well, honestly, xerin, finding shopkeeps with lots of money is pretty much an on-going quest of it's own in morrowind.
i think the soulgem thing is more for a mage who's gonna use it to trap a soul. and for storing stuff... i have the balmora house mod. it gives me my own pad with plenty of storage space. but for a wanderer, the best place is on the ground. or at Silt Strider platforms. note: if you store things in chests they have a good chance of going "POOF!" this is because most chests are set to respawn in the game. there is no way to change this, unless you learn to use the editor to go in and change the "respawn flags" for each container. overall reminder: don't use containers to store stolen goods. they get flagged in such a way that when you remove said item and put it into your inventory that everyone accuses you of stealing their stuff and attack you immediately. there is a passage it starts (ends) where u battle the last slaver - that2 one with the ranged weapon - forgot his name (in fact i never know him) and end starts where the door to slaves is one ring is at the first (second) mushroom place where the coins are the second ring is together with a skull in the small pond u came across it's in a corner at the steps/ridge i think u must use a night eye spell or manipulate the gamma to see him! |
