4what spell/ability/weapon does bodhi use to kill you with one blow when you meet her the second time (to retrieve the lanthorn)? i tried cheating with 100 percent resistances to everything and 10000 hps and she STILL got me in one hit...what is that? oh and i had like maxed out saves to...

1. 1, 6 sided dice

2. Clerics are the same as mages but they arent mages. they learn from scrolls.

3. The fighters are the best because when you have a group with your char, Korgan, Minsc, Nalia, and Vicona, you can hammer your way through anything!

4. ummm. haven't gotten that far yet. if you are cheatin why dont you just [cntrl]- Y her? Autmatic kill!

Hope this helps you!

1. It deal one damage, + a number between 1 and 6. When you hit, the computer "rolls a dice" and generate the number.
Exampel -> Bill is level 8 and cast Flame Arrow on a Goblin (1d6 piercing + 4d6 fire-damage). The computer rolls first a 2, then a 5. The Goblin will be hit for 3 damage (1+2), plus 9 (4+5)

2. The cleric can not gain new spells as a wizard can (by scribing
them). When he gains a new spell-level, he will automaticly get all the spells he can cast on that level. Hoe many spells he gets depends on his wisdom.

3. That is up to you to decide. Everyone is different.
I prefer the wizard (mage, true class at first, sourcerer when more experianced) since being a fighter often makes me just hacking and slashing. The magican is a more strategy-based class.
But try out for yourself, and find your own favourite.

4. Huh? Never noticed. Perhaps she and the other vampires level-drained you. Reaching level 0 will kill you.

Hope things are more clear now

1. 1d6 means a random number from 1-6. You will do more damage if you have proficiency slots, the weapon is magic, you have high strength etc.

2. Clerics do not have to learn new spells like mages do. Once they can access a new spell level, they have ALL of the spells from that level available (although it is a shorter list than what mages can get). Also, most of the spells are completely different, and are generally of the healing/protection type, although some do very heavy damage, especially against undead (see #4).

3. The class you like to role-play the best!! You can build any party around you that complements your skills. Or, you can choose to play solo and do everything yourself.

4. I'm not sure how Bodhi is dealing that much damage so quickly, but it could be a level-drain type of attack. If so, you want to use the cleric spell 'Negative Plane Protection', or equip an item such as the Mace of Disruption or Amulet of Power that protects you from level drain. Otherwise, use all of the 'buffs' that you can (haste, chant, defensive harmony, prot from evil, draw upon holy might, strenth potions etc) and beat the crap out of her. I found the Mage spell Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting and the Cleric spell False Dawn particularly useful in this battle. If you have either of Edwin/Jan/Aerie/Anomen/Viconia/Imoen in your group, then you should be able to use one or both of these spells.

thanks guys...i agree with you wedin that the mage is a more strategy depending class...im currently playing 3 games paralelly (if thats the word, not sure, im swedish), one with a solo Monk, one with a soloing sorcerer and one with a warrior with Minsc,Aerie,Anomen(i know hes a stupid wiseass but hes pretty good with a sword and i need a human shield to receive all destructive spells (= )and Valygar...dont know who ill be taking in as 6 man...maybe Edwin...can you get him to join even though you arent a thief? also im thinking of soloing with a multiclasser...which is best? and also do you guys know where you can buy a board game of D&D which will ship internationally?

I don't know where in sweden you live, Tulle, but both Siencefiction Bokhandeln in stockholm (sfbok.se) and tradition in various citys(www.tradition.se) should have something.

Edwin will join you, thief or not.

when you leave the underdark, and you meet up with the elves on the surface, if you attack one of them, the same thing happens. its to stop you from killing the characters after you side with them for some odd reason. just like when you side with the shadow thieves, and attack them, that thief with the godly longsword comes in and kills you with one hit, yet if you join with bohddi, and attack the shadow thieves, he doesnt come out. hmmmmmm

Wrong.

1d6 means 1 six-sided dice.
2d6 means 2 six-sided dice.

Using your Flame Arrow example,

1d6 + 4d6

The computer will roll 5 six-sided dice. The total damage will range from 5-30.

Lucifer Lord of demons 02-22-2002 03:34 AM

well corrected Dundee

for the question 1:read the posts
for the question 2:read the posts
for the question 3:A Kensai/thief(with TOB INSTALLED) Here is why(possible item spoilers)
1:romance anyone
2:items needed:white dragon scale, carsomyr, boots of speed, ring of gaxx, ring of human influence, cloak of deflection(or reflextion?)
gauntlets of max specialisation, sendai's Ion stone.

To play this guy you need 18str, 18dex,18 const, 18 int and as much as you want in the others. The reason you need 18 int is to protect yourself from mind flayers.

Now this guy is powerful at the start and gets VERY VERY VERY powerful later on. Dual class your Kensai at lvl 19 and become a thief (DUH!!!) and pick first the use any item ability. Then in battle cast assasination (you CAN backstab with carsomyr!!!) and cast a scroll of breach (you can thanks to use any item). WAIT. FIRST cast the scroll THEN cast assasination. It is also useful to have the staff of the magi when the enemy mages start casting spells so that you'll dissappear and their spell will fizzle. With this guy I soloed the entire game with no Probs!!!

SO as you can see the Kensai thief is the most powerful class. Even if a sorcerer can beat him the kensai could have placed a time trap and so the sorc would be in a time stop and even if he had lots of spell protections you've got the ever useful breach scroll!!!
