dang after two years, i can finally call my computer obsolete since it does not meet even the MINIMUM requirements for the game.. sigh time to upgrade.
mine is only 433mhz yet the minimum is 500mhz. the game runs but exits because of memory problems and the game too slow.
so right now, im just reading your post and try to imagine the game till i upgrade..

Here's a suggestion, if you really dying to play the game. go to any cybercafe ( I don't know whether your place got this service ). usually their computers are up to date. of course, you have to pay to use their computers.

Sadly that is the way things work when comes to games. I discarded my old K6-III and bought a new P4 just to play games and a few months down the line, I would probably have to upgrade it again. Damn!

Try some tweaking on your machine.
I play on a pentium 2 350 MHz with a voodoo 5500. Nothing compatible and far behind the min requirements, but i can still play without too much lag and without any crash.

First of all, close all applications running except systray and explorer.

change the resolution to 800x600

if u graphic board is 32bit you should be able to play it at normal speed - it is a slower game that i must say :(

but still great

With Taiwan so close to your area, I would've thought that the Phillipine marketplace would be more uo to date. Maybe more expensive by comparsion to the local economy, but anyway over here two years ago it would've been hard to find much of anything being sold quite as slow as your system. I had a 450 MHz PC I'd bought almost three years ago that was not "top of the line" when I got it. But video has changed by leaps and bounds. That PC had a 32 MB ATI Rage Fury, which is totally out of date now.

Even the four month old PC wasn't quite snappy enough for this game (64 MB card, but a GeForce 2 MX 400), had to turn down a lot of high drain options myself. This rapid turnover of high end gaming hardware is part of why I don't buy many games at all, and also why I keep playing over again in those older games with good repeatability aspects. Depending on various factors, there do seem to be some players able to get by with systems barely meeting the minimums, or even under them (and if course, you also have folks with systems like mine that technically meet all the "suggested" requirements, but still need plenty of tweaking to run nicely).

yah. i know that there are quite a few peeps getting whole new rigs or heavily upgrading their current one, and all for this game.

it is SO worth it. ::smiles:: just very surprising to see most people doing it happily. any other game and they'd be screaming their lungs out about it.

V***V

hehe... i ain't posted on Ironworks in a while... not since wiz 8. anyway, i've got a 1.4 athlon with 512 RAM and a 64 meg Geforce 3, and Morrowind kicks my systems @$$ unless i turn some of the stuff off. one of the weird things is my processor is at constant 100% utilization, which i've never seen before for any game. so don't feel bad if you're older computer is a little too slow... even new ones are for this game!

kinda strange don't you think so? people are wiling to spend a lot of money to upgrade their computers just for this game. including me.

but why? ;)
