I am on a new PC that I just built for my mom for $60.00 plus donated parts. I am in Lenoir right now, using free internet (10hr/mo NetZero). My home PC had trouble with a trojan that was trying to connect to a Russian e-mail address but Avast was holding it down, and I tried booting into safemode in order to run the antivirus scan, but the thing is...it got hung in a loop, and would never come out of the initiatory bootup before Windows kicked in. I was lucky enough to have received a new HDD for x-mas, so I installed it as the master, and my stuck one as the slave so as to be able to access my information on the old one from the new one. I will be backing up the old one to CD tomorrow and reinstalling everything from then on. I hope to see you all again soon.

Love,

Unfortunately I have also started having sudden PC problems. I'm trying to resolve them now, but seeing how strange the problems are it might take some time.

More info to be given in the thread in GD here

I am back...barely. At least I have a running OS again, and can access IW. I am still having some problems getting things back the way they were.

Some glitches hither and thither are always expected, never accepted and time-costly to work through.

Larry, I would run your anti-virus and the MS anti-spyware software immediately, you may be able to actually clean off the other drive and reset that as your master drive, it would save alot of time reconfiguring and reinstalling stuff. Good luck man, if I can help shoot me a line, or I can provide phone numbers where you can reach me for live tech-support (work and home)

Too late, Morgie. Thanks, anyway. I am set up and it took me like thirteen freaking hours to get this far...and I have not finished yet.

I now have WinXp running on my new 80G 8MB buffer drive, and the old 40G 2Mb buffer drive was wiped and reset as a storage bin. The 80G is partitioned into three parts:

OS/Office/Applications/Programs = 30G
Video/Pic. editing workshop = 30G
Game Room = 16.3G

As I mentioned in GenCon, I have lost the ability to access some of my backup files because I was tricked into thinking that the DVD backup utility was mine, and not a one-use demo that now has me locked out of some important things. I am also having to reconfigure Outlook and I am also working on some other minor this and thats.
