i am in the lower sections where the lava is but i cannot find the ore needed for the dragon armor..i have used the pick axe on the ore piles and all i've gotten are gems..any help would be appreciated

Did you cross the lava to the far side? I think it was an ore deposit on the wall where I was finally able to get the dragon ore.
