how do you get there? i have been all over the map nw of dragonspire, which is where it seems to be on map, but cant find it. any specific clues or help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, you have been through Dragonspire, past Erathsmedor and outside then?
If you go left outside his cave, you'll walk down a path leading to a number of quest "people" and the path leading to Brimloch Roon off to the west.
