Can you cast spells from scrolls placed in quick item slots?

Does the user have to be the appropriate level to cast say a L8 spell?

I'm also having trouble figuring out the wands. Sonmetimes they work sometimes not. Do they have charges & how can you tell if they are charged.

Thanks

this is a minor cheat , but if you want to recharge your wands , just sell them and buy them back. When you sell it it automaticaly is recharged to the max. And yes it doesnt matter what level you are to cast spells from scrolls. With the right one , even a firstlevel bard can hurl a timestop.

You can see how many charges a wand has left by the little number that appears over the quickslot icon on the main screen.

But sometimes Wands just refuse to cast no matter what you do. This ogt me recently - a section where I knew lightning would come in real handy was coming up, so i went and looted meself a nice wand of lightning. Nice if it would work! I waited 2 rounds waiting for that damn lightning bolt. Wand of Cold, Wand of Cloudkill and Wand of Fire all work perfectly though. No use to me at the moment however. And firing off the last charge on the Wand of Cold may yet turn out to have been an unwise move.

There's nothing cheating about selling 1-charge wands and buying back 10, 50 or 100-recharged wands: that's legit. There *is* a cheesy tactic involving selling the wands, quaffing a potion of master thievery, then having your thief steal back the fully charged wand. And there's an even cheesier tactic of going to a select few merchants who deal in stolen goods--then selling them expensive items, stealing them back, and selling them again, etc.

I've never gone for the cheesy stuff, since it makes the game lose its challenge. But simply selling a wand, then paying a great deal to get it back, fully recharged? That makes perfect sense.
