Is there a way to change your characters pciture? I know in the old Wizardy you could, but I cannot find it in this game.

Not within the game itself. You can change them in WIndows - go to the Portraits folder within the game and you will see lot of .bmp files which are the various characters, so you can change them by saving another portrait as those file names. Not really recommended unless you are comfortable with graphics etc.
