did or does the game freez when anyone elts kills the mantraps if not how did you kill them?

I cast Burning Haze on the lead one it take 2 or 3 but once you get it on them they will just stand there and die, if they breathe on you hold down shift and run, come back and recast. As for the locking up, I have no Idea, the game locks up on me at random times never the same way twice but not very often anyways. wood

Try running SCANDISK or backup your save file and reinstall the game, you might have some corrupt game files. Another suggestion is install or reinstall DirectX 7.0a off the CD and also update the driver for your video card.

Amazoni Mantraps, Jungles Lilies, Creeping Spores... I hate them all. Dragonsbreath and Incinerate seemed to work the best for me. Just keep your distance, they don't move very fast. Honestly, for the amount of damage these things do, you should get at least 5000 xp for killing one.

Are you sure the computer froze? I thought I was having the same problem but it turned out that my lead character was killed, there fore I couldn't move. Once I selected a "living" leader, my troup was able to move on.

not sure though i am coming to the conclusion that my saves mightbe having some big ass problems i couldnt even get paset that point on my brothers computer. i am really confused because bad thing is form my save i cant even renter the town i goign to reload form a porevias save and see what happends maby get some better luck appreciat ethe adviese though thanks

Theres a previous thread 1-2 pages back titled "OMG! I just got crushed" that has alot of ideas for killing the mantraps, basically just stay away from them and take them down with spells, though if you DO get them split up you can run up on them they are real easy up close when they can't cast the breathe spell, but you have to have them split up to do that, I took them down with lightning/burn combo.
