Since Monks cannot be hasted, does that mean that the boots of speed would be useless to my solo monk?

What was the point of making it so that monks cannot be hasted? Is this for balance or something?

They dont really need to be hasted they move fast enougth as it is.

Yes but doesn't being hasted make your attacks faster also? I think I read this in a walkthrough

Monks have I higher attack rating than any of the characters in the game they dont really need the extra speed.( Although I think Improved haste affects Monks, But dont hold me to this though)

You CAN actually,
baldurdash has a fix, which defines the rules for the boots of speed a little more accurate. This new definition makes sure Monks too, will appreciate its benefits.
