I have been wondering this ever since I first played BG1........

In the BG2 manual on page 24 (Quick formations) there are 12 different formations that your party can take but when I play I can only ever see six of them. In other words I can not walk in a straight line or in a cirle, S etc

Is there some way to change it so I can set any of the 12 or is there something specific that must be done before any of the others come up?
