what the heck do i have to do in this quest?? do i have to kill the dwarf and human that are escaping? i`ve went upstairs and rescued the woman and i saw the letter, but there wasn`t anything in front of the copper coronet(though i killed the escapers) what should i do?

I did it the good way and the bad way. The good way, your way, is complete. I tried to meet the guy at the copper coronet, but he wasnt there. Dont bother if you want the money. If you want the experience dont bother either. By the end of the game you should have got enough of both and maxed out on xp.

If you released her, then the quest is over, done.

As for the 2 who escape, then I always wax them. No criminal will get away from my sword :D As for the lady, then you actually had there 2 options: release her and be a good guy and the hero; or get the ransom for her first, for what you would have needed the note. Ransom would have been the Silver Pantaloons and REP -2.

But since you already let her go, then done, the quest is over, you can move on with the rest of the game.

EDIT: Forgot to add - I ALWAYS collect the ransom heh.. One thing is to be a "victim", another thing is to be the arrogant twit. That Lagy Elgea, or whatever her name is, is the second one. So I with great pleasure collect the ransom for her. Not to mention, I love to show later to the "law enforcers" there who's best heh :D
