What's all this I keep hearing about 'updating' items by using a gem or something? How does this work exactly? I've got absolutely no idea, but I've heard quite a few people talk about it. So could someone please elaborate? Thanks! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Hello young man http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
You can update the Iron Horn of Valhalla by talking to the Weaponsmith in Waukeen's promenade - you'll need a Beljuril Gem and a diamond.
The Mace Of Disruption can be updated using the Illitium Ore you obtain in the Sir Sarles quest - Cromwell will do the update for you.

Both updates make the weapons more powerful. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Uhh...newsflash! Since he asked this question in the BG2 forum, it would be quite likely he wants to know about BG2 items, not TOB ones, wouldn't it? So don't you think he DID post it on the apprpriate forum...?
So I suggest you remove those spoilers quickly, because I for one haven't played TOB yet and I do not wish to be spoiled when I visit this forum.
