Firstly, Familiars ! We all know and love them (apart from the evil b*****d that you get from Chaotic Evil mages. But which ones go with each alignment, like -
Lawful Good-Pseudo Dragon
Lawful Neutral-?????

I would really like to know which one is the most useful and/or fun to have.

And also which stats determine each thing about your char?
Like strength goes towards which weapons you can use and how much damage you deal.

One of them can cast mass invisibility which could be handy.Arn't a few of em good thieves. Might go well with a thief/mage. I don't like them personally. You loose 1 point constitution when they inevitably die.

Nah..just use 'em then stick 'em back in your pack for safekeeping.
Plus the additional hit points are nice.

which stats do what? manual, page 117. since TDD is now at 47% i have time to give you the answer tho:

STR melee damage and thaco modifiers
DEX ac and missile damge modifiers
CON hp and resurection survival modifiers. resurection survival is not in the game tho.
INT mage spells and lore modifiers
WIS priest spells and lore modifiers
CHA a variety of effects, including price and some quest rewards.

if you want exact details on what you need, just lok up the tables. although for some reason bioware in their infinite wisdom have decided not to include the explanatory effects on those tables with BG2. the important one is that CON above 16 is only benificial for fighters.

oh, warby? if you had aerie and she could cast find familiar, she would have a few more hp and might not EXPLODE whenever a dragon looks at her. the same goes for PC mages, tho hp are not such a problem for them. can you put it in a bag of holding?

I'm playing as a Chaotic good Necromancer. What familiar do you get with that?.It would be nice to boost him HP as I found out when fighting Harpers.Dragons don't bother me. You either kill them or get slaughtered trying.

"Run and you'll just die tired" thats my moto
