I drink a potion of some kind that raises my INT to 21, and I now have a "Mind Shield" attribute.

Does this do anything for me, such as protect me from various kinds of "mind" attacks?

That's exactly what it means. It protects you from confusion, feeblemind, charm, etc.

More importantly, it makes you immune to all the inithid psionic attacks. keep those potions, they are in short supply and irreplaceable.

Ur protected from illithids as well as umber hulks. U can use shadowkeeper for as many as u want-there's also a great sword that let's u wade right thru them- provides constant mind protection, as well as good stats-psion something i think. U might have to have TOB installed-i don't think my shadowkeeper program had it until i installed TOB. ...handy little item when u feel a bit dazed.
