Which do you prefer and why?

mage, youcan dual it and its more versatile. plus they get a MAJOR source of exp thu scrolls.

fighters are till much better tho.

Jolly Pirate 10-25-2001 06:25 PM

I don't care for dualing. Suppose we are talking single class only. Would your answer be the same?

Mitro Jellywadder 10-25-2001 06:31 PM

Sorcerers without a doubt. Who needs experience from scrolls
when you can get it torching your opponents? No need to change
you spells before you battle, you learn to improvise with what
you have.

sorceror all the way. mages are good for backup, but sorcerors can cast LOADS of spells. mages are still good, but i prefer sorcerors personally, but i always have at least one mage or bard in my party with my sorceror.

I'd still go with mage coz u can still change spells eventhough u memorise them. Suppose ur a sorceror and u made a mistake on choosing spells, u cant change it back wen u already memorised it. But sorcerors are fun http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif.

But a sorcerer won't have any problems with missing out on a handy spell, just because your mage can't find a scroll to learn the spell from anywhere... Personally, the idea of having 6 (or 3, memory is a little fuzzy) level 9 spells on 18th level is very tempting, I was "stupid" enough to choose the Imprisonment spell though, it took the last bit of challenge in my sologame away. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Most people would agree that it's (near) suicide to play the Sorceror as a newbie - because you really must know the right spells to choose to learn. But once you pick the right spells he's definately much more powerful!

I made a spell list for party Sorcerers. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif The link is in my signature.

If not a Sorcerer casting total oblivion, then a Cavalier meting out justice. Otherwise, I think I will just be a Blade and torture my enemies with, "My Heart Will Go On".
