I heard somewhere I think in a tolkien book that they were origanal goblins but WAY more powerful does anyone know what they are?

The AD&D Bugbears have nothing to do with Tolkien, or so I believe.

A giant hairy goblin, about seven feet tall and lives underground. Used as slaves by the drow.

There are plenty of them in the first dungeon and can be a pain if u get surrounded by them and u dont have any good equip.
