How do I find the baldur.ini file so I can use a cheatin Baldur's Gate I??

All you need to do is: open the baldur.ini file in a text editor (notepad) and save it.
It's in your main game directory, or you can just do a "Find File" for it.

It should be in your BG directory, for example

c:\program files\black isle\baldur´s gate\

oh yeah,
You may need to go into the Folder Properties and Show All files, and uncheck the Hide Extensions. or, your OS equivalent.

Well, I did all that, but when I type it in, nothing happens....any ideas?
