So...

I kicked Irenicus` ass big time, and was waiting for everything to go to hell....when WHAM the game crashed.( sent me straight to windows)
So...I think nothing of it I usually fight with my computer, I re bot my machin, and made a firm footprint on Jon`s ass once more, and this time, after the game is loading, the game crashes again! ( a black screen)

So now I am getting really mad and re-install the patch and start over AGAIN! And the game freezes Once again I make him eat dirt, when the game crahes once more ( big surprise)( it freezes in hell) so now I am getting REALLY mad and surf around on the nett ( nice waves today by the way) to see if there are any new patches out there. I find one, install it, re-bot my machin, turn Jon into a furry animal and kill him AGAIN....when what to you think happens. RIGHT, the game crashes. So can ANYBODY HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

desperate!

Funny, the same thing happened to me in Baldurs Gate I, when I reached the exit of the catacombs, where you encounter those dopplegangers, while the next area was loading, it always crashed, so I couldn't finish the game (now I'm playing again to see if this time it is ok, but I doubt it). Also, there was one area which made the game crash whenever I went there (one below Beregost which had a path going through the middle). Of course, the game was copied, so maybe there were some corrupt files (most likely).

A similar thing happened to me after I had installed ToB and the latest Bioware patch.

I've got a Voodoo card, and when I installed SoA I had to change some video settings to get it to work properly. When I installed ToB and patch, my special Voodoo settings got lost and it started crashing in various places.

When I restored the settings everything worked fine again.

So you may want to check your settings in case you've lost some changes. If you haven't, maybe someone else can suggest something.

(Doing a baaaaaaad 60/70 victory dance)

I managed to solw the problem. When I loaded the game the computer asked for disc 2. Right before I was going to make Jon stop breathing ( for about the millionth time)

I changed to disc 4, and tadaaa!!! It worket, the game didn`t crash it went straight to hell!!!

(Incase other has experienced the same problem, try switching to disc 4 might help!)

So now I can contuine my epic adventure in TOB, anybody have any tips or warnings?

Although Asca found a solution this time, a crahing problem like that generall means that your install has gotten old or some file has lost one crucial byte of data, so a solution that almost always works is to reinstall the game

Haladar is right. Repeated crashes upon entering a certain area usually means there's something corrupted in the files for that area. Crashing upon playing a certain movie means there's something wrong with the movie. Either re-install or copy the files from someone else's disc.

In your case, it's just the game being finicky about discs. I've found that starting BG2 with ANY disc except Disc 2 will lock up my game and force a total reboot. Your problem sounds similar--the movie for entering Hell is on Disc 4, but instead of asking for Disc 4, the game just dies.
