1) In certain instances at the beginning that shield can be very useful. I won't spoil you with where unless you really want me to. Just make sure that you equip your front character with it, as most enemy arrow fire will be directed at that person. As you get further into the game and your armor class gets better, consider replacing the shield with one that gives you better all around protection. Alternatively, if you have a multi-/dual classed mage who can use it, consider giving him the shield to protect against spells being interrupted by missile fire.

2) That's how the merchants make a profit - buy low and sell high http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I love that shield, and use it throughout the whole game.

Equip one of your front characters, then walk them alone into range of an archer ambush - just watch the archers kill themselves! It is better on a character who doesn't have a particularly good armour class, because more arrows will 'hit' and be deflected.

I thought the tip about using it for a dual/multi class mage to prevent their spells being disrupted by missiles was inspired - I'll try that next time!

keep that shield. later on and esp in ToB there are some truly badass archers who will quickly whittle down your fighters occupied in melee, so give it to aerie or some other backline character who can draw the fire. in SoA i mainly use it against those skeleton warriors that pelt me with ice arrows, even though they don't take much damage from it themselves :\.
