Somewhere in the game in some playhouse(I don't remember where) you get a quest:

"Find the wizard who hides in his laboratory in the sewers, and bring back a gem"

It's in the northern part of the sewers behind a secret door (which isn't much secret after all).
Climb down to the sewers through the entrance almost in the middle of the temple area. Go west and stay in the northern part. You will recognize a secret door which requires a certain key to be opened. Go further west, the next secret door is the entrance to the wizard's lab (as far as I remember it's roughly half the way). If you go further west you will meet a NPC at the entrance to another dungeon.

There is a secret door in the NW wall of the Temple Sewers - near where you find Keldorn. To access the temple sewers you have to have accepted the quest to investigate the new cult from the temple.
