I am having some troubles with BG2 now that I am out of the Underdark.
I noticed this bug earlier, when I tried to cast Wyvern call with Edwin. The game boots me to desktop. Now I am in the forest area with Wyverns roaming and the same problem is happening. Everytime I kill a Wyvern I get booted. I just installed TOB hoping this would solve the problem, but it hasn't. I also just downloaded the latest patch for TOB(to my knowledge). Any ideas on how i can fix this? Any help is appreciated. |

And if you dont find a fix for it, you can just avoid going there. There isnt a single quest or anything there, so you diont miss anything going there.</font> see ya! |
Uninstall the hole game and then install BG2+Tob. I dunno it could help.
Weird bug... |
I has a similar bug in the Final Battle. At random times it crashes, but never _after- I vanquished Irenicuses minions. My theory is that sometimes a certain animation frame goes missing or something, making the game die every time you try and use it. it should (read: might) go away when you replace the relevant files, the simplest way of doing this is to re-install the game.

I used to have that bug, however that was BG1, not BG2 . Never did find anything that worked against it. Just don't go there, I don't think you're missing much.

i have that same thing. but i'm pretty sure it's not a bug. since it's happening with me on BG1 BG2 Icewind dale and everything else. I'm starting to believe it has to do with ram...
|
Harrys theory dosent seem to fit the fact that it only appears in certain places. If it was a lack of RAM itd appear whenever a lot of animations had to be loaded at once. Still, RAM is cheap at the moment, so it cant hurt.

Since you only seem to crash whenever a wyvern dies, I'll echo the opinion that it seems to be linked to a faulty set of animations--the sprite set for wyverns is probably corrupted. Again, re-installing should replace the files, unless your CDs are scratched or something.
