Here's the deal - I just finished BG1, wherein I dual classed from a level four fighter to a cleric. The fighter turned cleric from BG1 that I imported to baldurs gate 2 is of level 6, though I don't think that's important. Here's my problem, I have spells memorised, but the cast spell button is unavailable (like when you have armour on a mage/thief). Why won't it let me cast spells - Is this a bug that anyone else has experienced - If anyone can help me out with what to do, please post us a message - In the meantime I might try downloading the latest BG2 patch and see if that helps

Neway the reason you cant cast spells y wearing armour is because exactly that: Mage's CANT cast spells y wearing armour (they cant unless dual or multi-classed neway)

There are some small exceptions from this rule: Elven chain is wearable by multi/ dual classed mages and so is Drow chain.

...Glorfindel, he has a fighter/cleric, not fighter/mage, so he SHOULD be able to cast spells with armour...

OK, qwhere are you in the game? The only thing I can think of is that you don't have any spells memorised (you don't at the start untill you rest), otherwise, I'd say it was a bug. Hope that helps.

Hey thanks for the suggestions - But I'm afraid my character is a cleric, and thus should be able to cast spells whilst wearing armour - and as I said he's got all those spells memorised because I arranged them on his spell list and then rested.... Even in the spell list for priests it has them as memorised yet the button for casting a spell still doesn't work.

I'm about to install the patch so we'll just see if that works.
