What happens later if I dont give Edwin to wizard and keep in my party? Is it good to give him or cover him? (if you betray Eddie you gain only 5000 xp and 5000 gp it's nothing)

Depends... if your're really not going to use him then slice him, as a matter of principal I always try to keep as many NPC's availible as possible. I never give Edwin away. He IS the best mage in the game. But no, you don't get any new quest, as far as I know. You just fight the wizard instead of helping him.
