How exactly do you make a party entirely created by you? How do you create more than one character and put it in the same game? does your entire party start of in Irenecis' little shop of horrors? any help/tips/pointers/advice on creating a unique party will be appreciated. ALSO...how exactly does the sorcerer work, is it better than a regular mage? thinking about trying out one of those......

Just start a multiplayer game, create your characters and assign them to the same player: you. After that, copy your first mpsave game to the (singleplayer) save directory and play a singleplayer game with more than one of your own characters. And yes, your companions start in the cages in Irenicus' dungeon.

Sorcerers are great, you just pick some spells you really need and you get to use them up to 6 times a day! Just pick magic missile, chromatic orb, identify (not if you have a bard), vocalize, acid arrow, resist fear, horror, fireball, dispel magic, stone skin, chaos, breach(!), lower resistance just for a start.

You can make any party you like, just put some of those nice new classes in there. Just put some fighter power in, I'd recommend a half orcish kensai with two weapon style and longswords. It's very easy to have a thief (dual classed is ok) for traps and a cleric for healing. You could dual class a human (pure) thief to (pure) cleric and wait until your thief skills return.

You could also make an investment in a bard (skald!) and monk. Maybe you want a paladin (inquisitor) and train him in two handed weapon style (there's a great weapon just for him). Or take an elven archer for real power at a distance (and disruption).

Other great options is a dwarven beserker with grand mastery in axes, a half-elfish ranger/cleric (or human ranger dualled at level 9) or a gnomish illusionist/thief. You need a little balancing and just be creative. If you start with a great party of your own, you will be very involved!

First, make sure the cache size is set to at least 300 mb(which can be done in the configuration program), and that you have at least 300 mb of free disc space. Then start a multiplayer game. Create all the characters, lock them, and start the game. You'll start in Irenicus' dungeon as normal, and can play normally from then on.

You may want to save the game and move the save file from the mpsave folder to the save folder, so you can continue playing your game in single player mode (and can set the cache size lower if you're short on disc space).

As for sorcery, it works like this:

The first difference between a mage and a sorceror is that a sorceror can't write spells from scrolls, though he/she can still cast directly from them.

A sorceror gets to pick a couple of spells each time he/she levels up, but you'll never getas many spells as a mage, so you'll have to plan ahead and pick only the most effective spells.

A sorceror does not memorize spells, but gets a number of spell points instead. A sorceror may be able to cast six level one spells, six level two spells and four level three spells a day, for example. These spells can be chosen from all the spells you picked, so you could cast six magic missile spells, or three magic missile spells, one armour spell and two chromatic orbs. You get to pick which spells you want to use at the moment of casting.

Look through some previous posts for the most useful spells for sorcerors.
