I'm in Chapter Five and I've just noticed that Nailia does'nt have her signet ring. I think she may have died and I used the Rod of Resurection to get her back but I did'nt notice the ring missing until much later.
Has this happened to anyone else??? ------------------ Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. - Dave Barry |

Yes...when fighting a Nishruu. This creature destroys (randomly) any protective item a mage has.
Needless to say I had to reload. |
Yep, but if is essential it's in the same sit.

So a Nishru can destroy protective items on a mage. Even Nalia's signet ring that is bonded to her??

the definitive answers on missing items:
the nishruu wasnt intended to destroy any item just because its magical; originally items with charges or one use. unfortunately there are still many items that are coded incorrectly. one of the baldurdash patches addresses at least a few of these. however, in the case of nalia's missing ring... that item, just like edwin's necklace, is labeled "undroppable" which means that it cannot be pickpocketed or removed from the paper doll/inventory. it also makes it disappear completely if it's no longer attached to the body, e.g. character death. this is a side effect mainly because many creature attacks are simply undroppable weapons in the creature's weapon slots and it would be unreasonable for a ghoul to drop a weapon that conveyed a ghoul attack upon its death. so for those characters that have undroppable items, try very hard to not let them die. afaik, only nalia and edwin have these and theyre mages; theoretically the most protected ones... |
Thank You. That definitely clears that up.
