Having just picked up a copy of BG2 ( Collectors Edition ), I now have a few issues to clear up before I can get start playing.

1. The patch - which one should I install? The International version or the English version? The game box didn't give any indication, although it does say " Made in the USA " on the side. ( I live in Australia )

2. What is the version number of latest patch?

3. Throne of Bhaal - I don't have this yet. Is it better to buy it now and install it before I start the game, or could I buy it and install it later? If I did this, would I miss out on anything?

3. It's a good idea to get ToB now. You won't miss out on any quests or gameplay, but you will be able to take advantages of enhancements/improvements made to ToB gameplay that will have a flow-on effect to SoA. Also, ToB is an add-on as well as an add-in, so there is a part of ToB that you can access while in SoA. Finally, if you get ToB you won't need to patch your game - though there's no harm done if you patch it and then install ToB on top of it.

Thanks for the info. So if I read things correctly, I will be:

Step 1. Installing BGII SoA, then
Step 2. Installing BGII ToB, then
Step 3. Installing the ToB patch

Is this right?

After you beat the game you gain access to TOB? I mean you beat the game and the game has finished. WHen you installed TOB you start to a new game?? As I understand its not like heart of winter?
