I have only just got ToB and decided to play the whole series through first. But when I try to load my BG character into BG2SoA through import - it says I can import from BG1 & BG2 but only my existing saved games from BG2SoA appear, nothing from BG1.

Am I going about it the wrong way? It could be that I am just dumb but I can't work it out.

Help appreciated.

Go to the BG1 save-map, copy the file you want to import (final-save perhaps) and paste into BG2's save-map

The easiest way I found, was to export your BG1 char, then copy the file to BG2 Characters directory and then use import when starting a new game.
