This is kind of an odd question. I`m playing an Assassin, and he has 18 in strength. I like him to NOT have 18. eh.. What I´m trying to say is that 18 in strength is too much. Will it change thief skills or backstab damage or anything like that very much if I lower the stats to say.... 13?
thx.

I'm really not certain but I'd guess that it wouldn't effect thieving skills. I don't know about the backstab though. I'd personally keep his strength at 18 if it won't effect any more important attributes. It means you can lug around a lot more heavy stuff.

I also think Strength affects your "THAC0" as well...rather silly, since it seems that Dex would be a much better indicator of THAC0 than would Strength. I just plays the game, though, I dassn't makes the rules! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

No strength will not affect your theiving skills, in face due to a theif's low thac0 I wouldn't settle for anything less than 18 in strength or dexterity. (strength does lower thac0 you can check this in the manual)

But what if I´d put on something like... irdle of Hill Giant strength? Will the Thac0 stink then too, when I level up?
thx.

The girdle alters your strength and THAC0 as if you were naturally that #. (ie. hill giant strength increase you to 19, similar to what you could have if you were a half-orc). BTW, there is a VERY nice belt in the game that doesn't improve your strength - so you might want to wear it instead and rely on your natural str.

Ok, thanks y´all!

Zaragoth 08-13-2001 11:44 AM

Wich girdle are you talking about, ScottG?
thx.

the only other useful girdle I found would be the Belt of Inertial Barrier for it's 50% resistance to magical damage. but that's kind of irrelevant once you get the Cloak of Mirroring...

so Zaragoth - just lower your strength and redestribute those stat points if you wish to, than just buy the Girdle of Hill Giant Strength in the Advanturer's Mart for something like 7k gp. you should have that much by the time you're out of Irenicus' Dungeon...

Darkon Blackblood 08-13-2001 02:28 PM

actually it's about 19k and u will most definatly not have that much
after the first dungeon unless ur cheating and in that case get the
1 of frost giant strength 21 str.
