Heard a rumour your AC can't go lower than -10 irrespective of what your cahracter profile shows, any thoughts guys?

I know you can get your AC below -10 on your character profile beause I have done it. But I have heard that the game considers anything lower than -10 as -10.

Does anyone know if that is true.

Its quite important really because if that is the case I'd rather have two characters running around with a -10 Ac than one with -22 and the other with -4 or whatever.

I've had -14 with a fully kitted out paladin (20 dex-restarted BG 1 with him because of a stupid mistake so the dex tome got used twice)) wielding a 2 handed sword, I completed all the sub quests and had all the decent gear like the ring of gaxx. I assume I could knock the AC down another 4 or 5 by using a shield but I can see -26 even with defensive harmony.


Any takers on the original question?

my bg2 Character is a rebuild from my bg1 character, and my dex is 24 because i started in bg1 i had a dex of 19, but some how i cloud use the tome of dex 2 time(hey) and when i was in the hell(bg2) I ged an another boost of +2 to dex, i have the sentinel shield, helm of glory, and more of that

Two words: drow armor. Of course that's a limited offer...

Drow Armour still won't get you to -26AC though surely

It's not that the game treats all AC below -10 as -10; rather it gives all opponents the opportunity to hit you on a natural 20 dice roll, no matter what your AC. -20+ AC doesn't make you unhittable, just very difficult to hit.
