what do I do if I have run out of offensive spells?

Running out of offensive spells is not something you want to happen when staring down a dragon, but you have some options.

All those scrolls and potions you've inevitably been holding onto for so long? Now's the time to use them.

If you have none of those, you'll have to find a clever way to employ your defensive spells on your fighters and have them hack it to pieces. Easier said then done, I know, but just get creative with your spells, positions and potions.

seriously...I don't have enough lv.1 spell slots for magic missile to take him down. Would you reccomend holy smite and a wand of heavens?

Well, as I write this I forget which dragon you're talking about, but remember if you're using the Wand of the Heavens you need to lower the dragons magic resistance. Once that's done, blast away with that Wand of Heavens and any others you have: wand of magic missile, lightning, fire, etc.

12 spells of magic missiles, or twelve missiles total? If you have twelve spells memorized, that should be enough (or at least a good start.)

anyone know where I can get a scroll of lower resistance? I could use it.

Whats the best way to keep your fighters from being knocked unconscious?

there isn't really any way. unconciousness is usually only a few seconds anyway. About the only defense is to try to attack the dragon from behind, where the wing power won't get you. To do this you need summoned creatures (the best you can summon, preferably) at the front of the monster, distracting him as you hack away at his butt.
