What is the best of the four kinds of armor in the game?

1.Leather
2.Scale
3.Chain
4.Plate

I think it is:

1.Aeger's Hide
2.Red dragon scale
3.Mithril chain mail +4
4.Gorgon plate mail

Drow armor doesn't count.

#3 has to be Bladesinger because it isn't taken away from you, plus it has more use in ToB.
I heard that shadow dragon scale is considered leather (usable by thieves)

Is there any way you can keep Drizzt's armor?

Armor of the Hart has a better AC bonus than the Gorgon Plate. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif That's the best armor in the game, IMHO.

you cannot keep any of drizzts partys items as melchor harpell always gets them back.

1. the night's gift +5 + stealth bonus
2. shadow scale
3. crimson chain +5 or bladesinger elven chain
4. red dragon plate.

Fighter:

Armor of the heart +3 full plate

Thief theif/mage:

Bladesinger +5 chain

Mage:

Robes of vernca

Ranger/Druid:

Shadow dragon plate +4 leather (ranger can use stealth skills)

Of course these are just the statistically best armour it's up to yor own personal preference as to which you want to take...

I love the red dragon scale-- i'm glad it's not plate-class only, kind of a gift to the druid PC, yet she can wear no real plate. She's a Great Druid single classes and the armor looks sweet too!

The reason for my two 'don't knows' is that I can't think why anyone would want chain or scale armor. You need leather armor for thieves because they cant wear anything else, plate mail for fighters because it is the best in every way, but I don't see the point of the other two types.

The reason for ring mail is that is the best type of armor bards can wear. Scale is the best armor type for Barbarian (that class is so cool!)
