When creating the final item, one or more of my mage-apprentices always dies, even when they only make Robe of Aprenti. is there a way for them to survive?
Previosly, I have assigned them to the medium-hard tasks.

I think you have to tell them not to create anything at all for you, all other paths lead to deaths

If you go for the robe, one of them dies.
If you go for the ring two of them die.
If you go for the staff all three of them die.
On top of this there is a possibility that they will not create the item for you. There is a way of finding out. If when you ask for the item they say they will have it ready in 4 days, they will fail. If they say that it will take some time, they will finish it in four days.

I'd take the staff over the ring any day. That staff is nothing compared to the one in the Twisted Rune.
