Meanal, GIF stands for...

Damnned if I know. All I know is its a proprietary picture format that is very effective for animations and is highly compressed, meaning it dosent take an absolute age to download. Proprietary means that the company which owns the standard charges royalties on all software which can create it, meaning that no freeware can _ever_ (legally) create one. which make it kind of a pain to someone like me who cant affor anything.

And thats all you need to know about GIFs.
