my favorits are :
magic missile, spell sequenzors, melfs minute meteors

Melf's Minute Meteors have saved my life a few times. They work great against Golems, and it is a doozy if you have a Sorcerer who knows this spell.

Magic missile is good, but later in game Abi Dazim's horid willting is my favorite.

wel, the lv 3-spell. takes longer to cast than the missile, but does much more damage.

Breach, Spell Strike, Shapechange
Timestop, Incendiary Cloud, Spell Immunity
Greater Malison, Horrid Wilting, Skull Trap

Offensive: AbiDalzim's because it will damage almost anything.
Disabling: Greater Malison and Lower Resistance
AntiMage: Breach
Defensive: Stoneskin

For effect: Try 3 skull traps or 3 chain lightnings in a spell trigger at high level.

Offense: Magic Missile, Minute Meteors, Chain Lightning, Horrid Wilting.
Defense: Stoneskin, Protection from Energy
Combos: Spell Trigger with 3 Lower Resistances (-84%) or 3 Greater Malisons (-12 to saving throws). Both are...effective.

For clerics, Righteous Magic + Draw Upon Holy Might = instant tank.

btw, whose bright idea was it to put the saving throw for chromatic orb at +6? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...s/rolleyes.gif

Magic Missle, Prismatic Spray, AbiDahlzim's Wilting, Sequencers and any of those spells that get rid of a mage's defensive spells(ie. Breach)
