I've been reading through quite a lot of posts today, and there seems to be be a misunderstanding concerning Greater Malison.
Greater Malison does NOT stack !!!! If you cast it twice, your enemy still has only a -4 TOTAL reduction, if you cast 50 of them, his sav.throws will still be lowered with 4 TOTAL. There is absolutely NO reason to cast more than one Greater Malison, untill it runs out. Spook (1st lvl mage-spell) does not stack either, cast only once. Doom (1st lvl priest-spell) DOES stack !!! -2 at a time ... So if you want a nice sav.throw reducer, put Greater Malison, Spook and Doom in a spell trigger ( Doom only available for cleric/mages) and you have an instant sav.throw reducement of !! -12 !!. Feel free to cast as many doom's as you want afterwards. P.s. Allways make sure the spell trigegr fires Greater Malison first. Enemies can make a sav.throw against Spook, if greater malison hits first (put it in the first trigger slot), your enemy will save for Spook at -4 . |
Actually, due to a little bug in some versions of the game, Greater Malison and the Armour Spells DO stack. This is fixed with the official patch, a baldurdash patch, and TOB. This only occurs in some versions of the game though, and because it is taking advantage of a glitch in the programing can be considered cheesy.
